Best fest fun @Bestival

Last weekend saw our third outing at Bestival, and it was a fantastic weekend. Not only did the sun come out to play but we got to dj in the Big Top (the 2nd stage, for anyone who has never been) to around 5000 people, definitely our biggest crowd to date. Went down pretty well we think, we certainly enjoyed ourselves anyway!
The gaffer (RdB) thought we did ok too cos talking to him straight after our final set (just before The Horrors came on stage) he asked us to help out and cover some changeover slots in Psychedelic Worm (3rd stage?) the next day. Obviously we said yes, got to keep in the good books and all that ;-)
Hopefully we’ll be back again in 2013. Maybe main stage this time?!
Finally, after what was a great weekend for us, we were very saddened to hear of the coach crash which took place on the Monday. It’s horrible to think that such a fun time ended in loss and heartache and our thoughts go out to those involved and their families. X

We’ve been invited by the lovely folk at SoChill Circle to join them at Leeds. We’re playing on Friday and Saturday night around 8pm and on Sunday afternoon at about 2pm. We’re really looking forward to it and because we know the Leeds crowd is pretty full on we’re bringing a whole load of killer tracks for your dancing delight. It’s going to be big! Bestival Festival News @Bestival

We are very pleased and excited to announce we have been asked backed to Bestival – 3rd year in a row! AND announced on the same website update as Beardyman, Zane Lowe and Psychemagik which is pretty exciting too.

See you there xx

Deer Shed update

Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control (the flippin’ weather) the good folks at Deer Shed have had to re-jig some of the stages and stage times. As a result Across The Tracks are playing Saturday morning 10-11.30 on the main stage. We will be the soundtrack to your brunch, chilled-out, Easy Like Saturday Morning, but with toe tapping and head nodding. Dancing is of course allowed and encouraged!
If you are coming to the festival without any kids in tow, set your alarm! X

Latitude 2012

Latitude was brilliant, thanks to everyone who came along, made requests, danced, cheered, laughed, clapped and ignored the rain. Hopefully we’ll see you again next year xx

Across The Tracks at Deershed 2012 @DeerShed

More festival news!

There has historically been a lack of festivals in the North of England, but things are rapidly changing and Deershed is now in its third year.  Small and pefectly formed, this family friendly gathering belies its meagre price tag, offering a quality music line up in a beautiful North Yorkshire setting.  Headliners this year are Saint Etienne, Villagers and Cherry Ghost, with support coming from brilliant indie bands such as School of Seven Bells (Ghoststory album is ACE), Laki Mera, Cashier No 9, Dutch Uncles and Sam Airey.

We are very pleased to announce we have been asked to play a full Across The Tracks set, 4 hours of songs we all know and love, from all genres and eras.

So Saturday 21st July, in the Lounge Bar, 7-11pm… bing the kids, they’ll love it too!

As always requests welcome, contact us via twitter or email.

See you there xxx

Across The Tracks at Latitude 2012 @LatitudeFest

After a couple of successful appearances at Bestival we are hugely excited that we have been asked to bring ATT to Latitude, and next weekend will see us playing four 2 hour headline sets on the SoChill Circle stage.

The SoChill Circle has been moved into the main arena and is just on the left prior to the bridge over from the campsites – see the big S on the site map.Image

Our set times are as follows, and very easy to remember (luckily for us!);

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, midnight – 2am

(some may argue that should be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday but we have more important things to worry about, like where are the headtorches and who will be nominted driver for the journey home to Manchester?)

Usual ATT rules apply – anything goes as long as it’s good, but as a taster here are some of the tunes we are looking forward to playing…

Adele v Mark Ronson – Stop me in the deep (Scott Melker Mix) St. Etienne – Nothing Can Stop Us Bassment Jaxx – Bingo Bango Rolling Stones – Miss You Martin Solveig – The Night Out  (Madeon Mix) Scissor Sisters – Only the Horses Cassius – Sound of Violence (Aeroplane mix) Sister Sledge – Thinking of You (DJ Dmitiri ReEdit) Darwin Deez – Bad Day (Kraak and Smaak mix) Justice v Simeon – We are your friends Al Wilson – The Snake Frankie Valli – The Night. Vampire Weekend – A-Punk Elbow – Grounds for Divorce/Blackstreet No Diggity Doves – There goes the fear Sam Sparro – Happiness Junior Senior – Move Your Feet Jurassic 5 – Concrete Schoolyard Sunshine Anderson – Heard It All Before Bloc Party – One More Chance Karen Young – Hot Shot Donna Summer – Love Hangover John Cutler – It’s Yours Tribe Called Quest – Can I Kick It? Sunkids – Rise Up Loleatta Holloway – Runaway Bob Marley – 3 Little Birds Nu Yorican Soul – Black Gold Of The Sun Talking Heads – Once In A Lifetime Ben L’Oncle Soul – Seven Nation Army

Requests welcome either via email or twitter, by Wednesday if you can.  We do not speak Americano.  And trance is no go.

Really looking forward to seeing you there x

News incoming

Just a quick one to let you know that our 2012 festival calendar is filling up nicely, details to follow as soon as the Is are dotted and the Ts are crossed!

Swagger

Been a while since you’ve heard from us, we are still beavering away behind the scenes planning our next Across The Tracks move.

In the interim however, 2 of our residents, Justine and Martin are giving up their time, talent and tunes to raise money for a deserving little girl who suffers from cerebral palsy.

We will be playing at Swagger, an event being held at Sound Control Manchester on Saturday April 14th. The event also features special guest DJs Dave Haslam, Shell Zenner and Martin’s brother Dave. There will be live music from the most excellent indie covers band, The Assembly.

Tickets are £6 advance, and can be purchased from the venue or via ticketweb

Any remaining tickets will be available for £7 on the door on the night.

All profits to here

If you have enjoyed the rock n roll side of Across The Tracks over the last 6 years, it would be great if you could support this cause. Please invite your friends along too – the more the merrier!
